Abans and Hero sponsor the Navy Sports Club for the 2013/214 rugby season. The team is lead by Third Row Forward Yoshitha Rajapaksa.
Navy have enlisted the services of Assistant National Coach, Leonard de Zilwa as their Coach and brought in a couple of foreign players in a bid to boost the standards of local ruggerites to international level. Commodore Dushyantha Amaranayake functions as Chairman Navy Rugby and Motilal Jayathilake acts as the physiotherapist.
