Navy ruggerites displayed a superb performance outsmarting the rivals by running hard and tackling well. They ran through the the CR & FC defences and collected their points with ease much to the dismay of the Red Shirts' fans gathered on the home grounds to see a comfortable win.
CR & FC were leading 17-12 at half time. Navy's Winger, Dinusha Fernado started the sailors' account with a superb try. Fijian Jone Avokia touched down into the 20th minute and it was converted by Nuwan Hettiarachchi, giving the sailors a point tally of 12 at the breather.
In the second half, Nuwan Hettiarachchi sprinted 50 meters to touch down to equalize the point tally. Fijian Katakolu Matadeai snatched an easy try into the ninth minute and Nuwan Hettiarachchi converted it adding the extra points. Dinusha Fernando scored his second try which was converted by Nuwan Hettiarachchi finishing the game with a 4-point lead.
